In 2030, 180,000 electric cars will be driving around Prague. To charge them, EVR stations need to be built on public lighting poles. The first ones have already been installed; however, the current design is neither aesthetic nor practical.
Compared to current versions, our design is 22% smaller in diameter, saving space on the streets. The design is universally compatible with different types of charging stations. The rounded edges are both aesthetically pleasing and safe. The wavy surface is not only a nice detail, but also provides protection from tag and sticker damage.
Our design can easily be produced in laminate, same as the current option, but we would like to test a more innovative and sustainable solution; for example, replacing the glass mat that reinforces the laminate with hemp fibre.
